I saw a shooting star
From my window pane
I thought it was afar
But it was just a plane
.
It streaked across the sky
Seemed to be so bright
Up above the trees so high
Then faded out of sight

Were there aliens on board
Taking a stellar trip
Maybe a seething hoard
On a cruise spaceship
.
I hope they all paid the fare
To Jupiter or Mars
They almost landed there
Just to park their cars
.
Maybe they were purple
Yellow or even green
Some might be bashful
Not wanting to be seen
.
I wish they had landed here
To brighten up my night
They had nothing to fear
Jetting out of sight
.
Sending out an invitation
They might come back soon
We could do levitation
On the surface of the moon
