I fear the time is near for me

Journeys end is here you see

Dark thoughts I cannot mend

What waits around the  bend

Is this what is meant to be

My shadows ever follow me

Regrets that I cannot hide

Things that lurk deep inside

Hidden thoughts I will not tell

This is my own private hell

Looking back at life's refrain

Only memories remain

Ever present in my mind

Resting from ties that bind

Each day without reason

Fighting off the dreaded demons

I can't let them ever win

To give in now would be a sin

So here I sit broken hearted

Life is over before it started

Funny how things end this way

Now it becomes time to pay

Pay I must deeds I have done

No need to complain

The fight for life

I have finally won
