Christmas Time is Near
...
Christmas is a wonderful sight
With children filled with joy
Anticipate the coming morn
Many things to eat and toys
Nestled in their beds
Wondering if we've been bad or good
The way Santa wished we would
.
Busy hanging stockings
For Santa Claus to see
Hoping to find a sparkling treat
Or maybe two or three
Peering out a window
At the newly fallen snow
Asking mom and dad
If Santa will really show
.
The Christmas Tree all aglow
With lights of red and green
It's a wondrous delight
That really should be seen
Tensile and silver garlands
Arranged with great care
Some over here some over there
.
The pies are all made
The Turkey is all stuffed
Waiting for the family
I hope there is enough
Christmas dinner will be served
Complete with all the trimmings
Good to the very end
And from the beginning
.
Now this is the time of night
Children to scurry off to bed
With thoughts of tomorrow
Still dancing in their heads
They are all tucked in
Ready for night time slumber
Will they stay there it's a wonder
.
Opening a box with a Santa suit
Its all red and so very new
She gives me a kiss
Underneath the mistletoe
Just remember this
Turn the lights down low
You are the Santa that I know
